Socializing
When you stay abroad for longer you may often find that you get homesick and miss your family and friends. At the beginning it is especially hard to get used to a new country, the new surroundings, language and food. The most important rule is: Be patient! It is also helpful in such situations to call home, write emails and letters and of course make new friends.
Other students that come from the same country and possibly had the same problems after their arrival can help you make the first steps. They can be found in our forum, through the AStA foreigner committees or through the foreign students’ associations.
Of course you should also try to make contact with German students. That way you get to know the country, the language and the culture much better.
