Internet at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum

When enrolling at the Ruhr-university you will receive an access authorization for the internet services of the Ruhr-university. At the same time there will be set up an email-address for you in the following format:  With your log in information you can send and receive e-mails, set up your own homepage and log in at computer work stations at the university. 

At the university library and at all faculty libraries there are public internet work stations, however they are not meant for longer online research. For longer works on the computer there are CIP-spotsoff-site link available all over the campus. Most of the time you will have to sign in with your log in information. 

Beside many small CIP-spots in the buildings there is a primary CIP-spot available at the computer center in NA 02/247. Here you can also print, scan and transfer data to data medium (e.g. floppy disks). In addition there is access to the wireless network (WLAN) in some areas of the university respectively sockets where you can connect a notebook to the university host.

Internet at the University of Applied Sciences

At the University of Applied Sciences you will receive a personal user identification upon request at the data processing center (DVZ). With this identification you can use your e-mail account, downloads, etc.

In total there are around hundred public PC-work stations on campus, to be found in the libraries, in labs as well as in seminar- and work-rooms. The different faculties partly have additional work spaces.

Internet at the Evangelic University of Applied Sciences

At the university there is a computer-pool (equipped up-to-date) made available for you. The validity of the internet access has to be extended online each semester.

Internet at the Technological University of Applied Sciences (TFH)

At the Technological University of Applied Sciences (TFH) you will receive a personal user identification upon request at the computer center. With this identification you can use the local data server as well as your e-mail account. With this you also gain access to the private area of the website („My TFH“), where you can have a look at documents for internships, scripts for lectures and personal information like your results..

Within the TFH you can access the internet from the internet cafe, the library, the TFH-work rooms as well as the multimedia-auditoriums.
