Taking a taxi

Taxi (Bild: Photocase.com)Taking a taxioff-site link in Germany is quite expensive, however there are fixed fares in each city. In Bochum, the basic fare is 2.30 €. Additional fares are calculated per kilometre (1.35 €) and for travelling time.

You will find taxis at taxi stands (e.g. at the main station or in the Uni-Center), or you can order a taxi by phone (Phone 0234/333000) or onlineoff-site link.

If you're riding on the bus, you can ask the bus driver to call a taxi to a bus stop of your choice, so you do not have to walk home. This also works on the train or on the subway. On the train, you can ask the conductor, on the subway there is an order button next to one of the doors.
