Bochum Universities

There are a total of four universities with more than 40,000 students in the Bochum area:

• The Ruhr-University (32,000 students)
  
   
• the University of Applied Sciences (4,500 students)
  
   
• the Evangelic University of Applied Sciences Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe (2,000 students)
  
   
• the Technical University of Applied Sciences Georg Agricola (1,500 students)
   
• the Hochschule für Gesundheit
   
• and the EBZ Business School

Two other universities have branches in Bochum: the Bochum Acting School which belongs to the Essen Folkwang-Academy and the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, who's Social Insurance Department resides at the Federal Miners Insurance in Bochum.
